Sk8tizen
Manifesto
We are a small group of skateboarders in Thailand which is home to old-fashioned conservative culture and politics but we believe in diversity and freedom of expression.
Initially there were drawbacks but 2020 Thai youth movement for democracy across the country gives us courage. We attended one of the many demonstrations and presented skateboarding as a way of expressing one such activity that gives skaters chance to skate on the vinyl face of the Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, the dictator who still holds power.
Activities that day led to the integration with youth organization, Sk8tizen, a group of people who use skateboarding for expression and eventually led to many more activities with them.
We believe in freedom of expression and skateboarding is our way to doing it. We would like to bring this idea to skaters who believe in democracy around the world. Let skateboard be one of the symbols of freedom.
